Datumlinjen Dateline

Meredianen 180 går inte som ett rakt streck, ifrån Nordpolen till Sydpolen, genom Söderhavet. De olika små ögrupperna har ändrat på linjen för att få ha samma datum. Så går linjen väldigt krokigt och därför ändrades vår datumlinje någon gång i natt i stället för vid 180 grader.

Meredianen 0 är GMT (London)

Nu förstår jag exakt!

The Meredian 180 doesn't go like a staight line from the North pole to the South pole. All the small islandgroups  have changed the line, to be able to have the same date within the group. So the line is very crooked and our date changed here on the ship,  sometime during the night instead of exactly on 180.
